What is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge is a fixed prosthetic device used to replace one or more missing teeth. It consists of one or more artificial teeth (called pontics) held in place by dental crowns that are cemented onto the natural teeth on either side of the gap (called abutment teeth).

At ValueDent, we fabricate our bridges from premium E-max porcelain and zirconia, ensuring that your bridge is both highly durable and virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth. No metal, no dark margins — just a seamlessly restored smile. Bridges are an excellent non-surgical alternative to implants for replacing missing teeth.

Benefits of Dental Bridges

Replaces Missing Teeth

Fills the gap left by missing teeth, restoring a complete smile and preventing adjacent teeth from drifting out of alignment.

No Surgery Required

Bridges do not require surgical placement. They are an excellent choice for patients who prefer a non-invasive approach.

Quick Treatment

A dental bridge can typically be fabricated and fitted within 3–5 days, providing a fast and convenient smile restoration.

Natural Look & Feel

Our E-max and zirconia bridges are custom-crafted to match the shade and texture of your natural teeth for a seamless finish.

Restored Chewing

Restores your ability to chew and speak properly, distributing bite forces evenly and preventing future jaw joint issues.

Cost-Effective

Bridges are generally less expensive than implants and are highly practical when adjacent teeth already require crowns.

The Dental Bridge Treatment Journey

Consultation & Assessment

We perform a detailed examination, review X-rays to assess bone and root health, and verify that the abutment teeth are strong enough to support the bridge.

Tooth Preparation

Under local anesthesia, the teeth on either side of the gap are shaped and contoured. This creates space for the crowns that will anchor the dental bridge.

Digital Impression & Design

We take highly accurate 3D scans of your prepared teeth. These scans are sent to our on-site laboratory for custom design and precision milling.

Do: Share any sensitivity history with your dentist. Avoid: Hard foods immediately before your prep session.

Dental Bridge FAQ

With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, an E-max porcelain bridge lasts 10–15 years and a zirconia bridge can last 15–25 years or more. Proper cleaning under the bridge with floss threaders or water flossers is essential to maintain gum health beneath the pontic.

Both options can be excellent depending on your situation. Implants are generally preferable for single tooth replacement when adjacent teeth are healthy, as they do not require modification of those teeth. Bridges are a better fit when adjacent teeth already need crowns, when surgery isn’t suitable, or when speed and lower cost are priorities. We can help you choose the right option during your free consultation.

Use a floss threader or superfloss to thread floss under the bridge and clean the area between the bridge and gum. A water flosser (oral irrigator) is also very effective and easier to use daily. We provide a full cleaning kit and demonstrate the correct technique before you leave.

The procedure is carried out under local anesthesia, so you should feel no pain during treatment. Some sensitivity in the prepared teeth is normal for a few days after preparation and typically resolves quickly. The final bridge fitting appointment is completely painless.

Our high-grade E-max porcelain and zirconia bridges are highly resistant to staining from coffee, tea, wine, or food, maintaining their bright, custom-selected shade for years.

If one of the supporting teeth under the bridge becomes decayed or damaged, the bridge must be removed to treat the underlying tooth. Proper oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups are key to preventing this.
